What is PRP Hair Restoration?

Platelet Rich Plasma or PRP is a non-surgical hair restoration treatment option for both men and women who require stimulation of hair growth for hair loss conditions. PRP contains essential and specific growth factors that assist in hair regeneration.

What Is The Process For a PRP Hair Restoration Treatment?

Our dedicated PRP Specialist and Nurse Practitioner will first have a consultation to discuss desired results and frequency of your PRP Hair Restoration injections. On the day of your appointment, your provider will start with a ‘before’ photo in our dedicated photo room. Then, a comfortable blood draw will be performed by our PRP specialist.  After processing your blood in a centrifuge to separate at the plasma rich platelets and growth factors, your PRP specialist will then carefully inject the platelet-rich plasma into follicles in the treatment areas. We recommend a series of 3 treatments about 1 month apart for results. After the 3rd month, the treatments are spaced based on results for the individual patient.

How does PRP for Hair Restoration work?

The enriched cells in the PRP contain cytokines and powerful growth factors that have been proven to stimulate natural hair growth and follicle function.  The number of treatments is directly related to the cause of hair loss and the significance of hair loss.

Results may vary by patient. The first step in the process of hair growth is to slow down and halt the process of hair shedding. We recommend following up after 3 treatments to discuss hair growth.

Both men and women are candidates for PRP Hair Restoration and those with patches of weak-quality of hair growth or patches of alopecia areata. Results vary, but in general, you will begin to see new hair growth within three to six months.
